The Headmaster, Mr Paulo Durán, said:

It is wonderful, in this Olympic summer, to be breaking some records ourselves and I congratulate our students for all their deserved success. We are so proud to see our students go off to such an excellent and diverse range of destinations: Medicine at Oxford, great numbers to Russell Group universities and apprenticeships and similar. Days like this are what makes being the Headmaster of a school like St Edmund’s such a privilege. To see all the efforts and measures put in place over the last few years payoff is testament to the team behind the students and especial thanks, as always, must go to the dedicated staff, parents and families who do so much.

I appreciate that even on a record day like today there will be some disappointments but I am confident that all our leavers take away with them an educational experience at St Edmund’s that delivers not only excellent academic results, but crucially, a solid foundation built on a sense of morality, team work and a responsibility to the wider world.
