St Edmund’s College – Strong GCSE results announced

Following the excellent A Level results we are pleased to announce that we have seen an increase in our GCSE grades over 2015. A* – A grades have increased to 36% with 65% achieving A* – B grades.

Grades A* – A – 36%

Grades A* – B – 65%

Grades A* – C – 88%

Overall pass rate- 99%

Whilst we are pleased with these results, especially in a year that has shown a decline in overall national results, we continue to push forward in all areas to ensure that each and every student, no matter of ability, achieves their best. I thank the families that have supported the students through this time and of course the dedicated staff that work so hard to educate and support our students.”

The following students achieved A* – A grades:

Alice Martin, Broxbourne, achieved 11 A* grades

Meera Pusparajah, Ware, achieved 11 A* and 1 A grade

Mark D’Cruz, Chigwell, achieved 9 A* and 2 A grades

Charlie Ponting, Ware, achieved 9 A* and 2 A grades

James Hanley, Ware, achieved 8 A* and 3 A grades

Charles Vassila, Enfield, achieved 10 A * and 2 A grades

Aimee Carhart, Woodford Green, achieved 9 A* and 3 A grades

Catherine New, Saffron Walden, achieved 6 A* and 5 A grades

Alvaro Sanchez Martinez, a full boarder from Spain achieved 12 A*s grades

Polly Stateva, a full boarder from Bulgaria, achieved 7 A* and 4 A grades.
