The King’s School Canterbury – former pupil in England U21 hockey team

23 May 2017

2016 Leaver, Will Heywood (MR), made his England U21 Hockey debut v Austria in Vienna this Easter.

It was his first cap for an England side, winning all three matches of the series against Austria.

Will has also been playing Hockey for Canterbury in the Premier League, alongside another former pupil, James Oates (CY).

In his last year at King’s, Will suffered a serious ankle and ACL injury which could have caused irreparable damage. But thanks to the School Physiotherapist, Jolindi Jefferson and Recreation Centre staff member Sam Fruin, Will was able to make a full recovery, returning even stronger than before!

He will be travelling to Australia to play a Hockey season in Melbourne this September.
