Other athletes who represented Somerset at the South West Championships at the Exeter Arena included Tom Fuller in the 400m, Harry Nuttall-Owen in the 100m Hurdles and Helen Lewis, who was involved in the 200m. Many Wellington students were also involved in the relay races.

In the South West Combined Events Championships last weekend, Jack Turner was second just three points behind the winner and Cerys Lee finished in eighth position and has moved up to 3rd in Somerset and helped her Somerset teammates for first place.

Wellington Athletes were also triumphant at the annual Ten Schools Meet at Millfield earlier in the summer. Overall the boys’ team came a resounding first beating the next best team by 58 points. The girls finished a fantastic second to Millfield. In the individual age group competitions the U17 and U16 Boys both finished in first place while the O16 and U16 girls finished in second place.
