    Facilities

St Clare’s is a happy and high-achieving independent day school with a strong academic profile.

We are delighted that our Nursery has been recognised as a Daynurseries UK ‘Top 20’ Rated Nursery (Wales) for the third year running. This is not just daycare; this is a St Clare’s nursery education for 2 ½ to 4-year-olds with small class sizes, full-time qualified teacher, weekly Spanish/French, Forest School, PE and optional ballet as well as a healthy hot lunch and free after school care until 5:30pm. Prep School children also benefit from specialist teaching in Spanish/French, PE, Music and Forest School This enables us to offer a successful yet challenging and stimulating educational environment.

Our academic results at both GCSE and A-Level are excellent and consistently well above the national average thanks to our specialised teaching delivered by experienced subject specialists and examiners. St Clare’s is in the top 5% of schools in the UK for ALPS (A-Level Performance System) since 2018. Sixth Form students are taught in small tutorial-style groups.

St Clare’s provides a return to traditional values and standards in a modern setting. We believe good manners, high personal standards of dress and a culture of mutual respect and courtesy are extremely important.

St Clare’s is a proud member of the Cognita global family of schools. We benefit from the support that being part of a global group brings, as well its culture of academic excellence.  Launched in 2004, Cognita is an extraordinary family of diverse yet connected schools joining forces in an inspiring world of education with one common purpose: building self-belief and empowering individuals to succeed.  With over 100 schools in Europe, Latin America, Middle East, North America and Asia, Cognita employs 15,000 teaching and support staff in the care and education of more than 75,000 students. Cognita schools provide a uniquely global education that goes beyond grades to develop all-round academic excellence – building resilient minds and encouraging positive international perspectives on a firm foundation of wellbeing.

St Clare’s will always be small enough to ensure that we have a deep and valuable knowledge of every individual pupil but large enough to create meaningful communities and provide a wide and varied academic, pastoral, enrichment and extra-curricular offer.

In choosing St Clare’s as a school for your son or daughter you are ensuring that they are educated in a nurturing environment and will realise their full potential.
