Merchant Taylors’ School – Y11 and L6 Receive Medicine Career Talk From Ex-Pupils

25 Jun 2019

Two former Merchant Taylors’ students, Dr Libby Wilson and Dr Nikhil Misra, gave a talk on careers in medicine to Year 11 and Lower Sixth boys and girls. Dr Wilson is an Emergency Medicine Consultant at Aintree Hospital and Dr Misra is a Consultant General and Trauma Surgeon.

They both delivered an informative and interactive presentation, answering questions about their respective careers. Dr Wilson and Dr Misra gave students a glimpse of what they could expect if they decided to embark upon a career in medicine, and how they ended up in their chosen fields. Students were also informed of the many different career paths they could take if they opted to study Medicine, including research, working abroad or even serving in the armed forces.

We look forward to seeing Dr Misra again in the summer term, when he will deliver a session on treating a trauma wound.
