THE KING’S SCHOOL WORCESTER EXAM RESULTS SUCCESS CONTINUES

16 Oct 2018

Following on from the success of A Level results last week, we have today, on GCSE results day, announced another fantastic set of results.

100% of pupils obtained 5 A*-C or the 9-4 equivalent, with almost 70% of all grades achieved at A*/A or 9-7 and 97% achieving either A*-C or 9-4 grades.

There are many outstanding individual performances, but we are also proud to report 29% of pupils achieved a grade 9 in the new numerical grading and almost one third of pupils achieved 10 or more A*/A or 9-7, a true tribute to the pupils’ dedication.

Matthew Armstrong, Headmaster, congratulated the pupils;

“I wish to congratulate our Fifth Form pupils on their superb GCSE results today, particularly as they were gained during challenging period of GCSE reforms. It’s great to see so many who are rightly thrilled with their results. The pupils and staff have done exceptionally well and these excellent results are a testament to their ongoing hard work, determination and commitment. We look forward to watching and guiding them as they move up into the Sixth Form for the next chapter of their education.”

Kath Whiteman, Head of Middle Years, also commended the commitment of pupils and staff:

“We are incredibly proud of the students and what they have achieved. They have worked exceptionally hard and they fully deserve the results they have got. I would also like to thank the staff for the strong pastoral and academic guidance that they continue to provide all our pupils at King’s.”
