Whether your child is currently in the Senior School, moving into Year 7, still in the Infant & Junior School or you are looking at moving them to Greenfields, we wanted to provide you with some key information about what the Senior School has to offer for your child.

Our learning approach:

In our Senior School, Greenfields students aged 11-14 follow the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum. It works well with Study Technology, and helps develop students into becoming more confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged learners.

Students’ knowledge is assessed in each of the core subjects at the end of each year. As needed students receive  tailor-made academic programmes based on their individual strengths and weaknesses.

The subjects taught include: English, Mathamatics, History, Information & Communications Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Art, Music, Drama, Sport, Languages (optional),  Careers and Personal & British Values (including the 21 precepts of The Way to Happiness).

We offer the following GCSEs & IGCSEs (exams):

This is how we deliver the Study Technology Courses:

In September, at the beginning of the school year, the teachers at Greenfields focus on educating the children in the Study Technology Courses. This sets them up for a great year ahead. They deliver Study Skills for Life (SSFL), which is followed by the SSFL internship and the Basic Study Manual (BSM) and then the BSM internship. These internships ensure that the children thoroughly practise the new skills that they acquire when studying the courses and therefore gain even greater understanding and certainty.

In conjunction with the use of checksheets*, the courses are also delivered as a group course using the Applied Scholastics Teacher’s Guide. This contains a whole host of extra practical assignments and activities that truly bring the data to life.

Boarding:

We have children enrolled from all over the world and we accept children from 11 years old, with any level of English.

Being a boarder at Greenfields means you benefit from an excellent English education at our British Boarding School. Some students speak almost no English when they first arrive at Greenfields.

We place such students on an intensive English programme designed to make them fluent in reading, writing, speaking and listening in the English language.

In the process, they gain internationally recognised English qualifications awarded by Cambridge University

Even when they graduate our English programme, they are provided with special English lessons designed to further strengthen their individual needs.

*A checksheet is a form which lays out the exact sequence of steps to be studied and includes theory, practical assignments and essays. Checksheets enable a student to comfortably study at their own pace.
