A fantastic final show for Kings Oxford’s Art Foundation students

On 12th June, fifteen Art and Design Foundation students at Kings Oxford presented their Final Major Projects.
The show offered visitors a unique opportunity to see the very best of our Art and Design Foundation students’ work. The students presented work of exceptional quality, imagination and technical skill, exhibiting design, architecture and textile solutions, alongside fine art and animation.
There were a huge variety of projects, which included:
- A scale architectural model for a museum in Oxford celebrating architecture, created by Yubin Kang. This project was inspired by different styles of architecture.
- ‘Map experience’, a 3D structure map by Carolina Herrera, investigating her experience of Oxford though maps.
- ‘Rolling Innovation’ by Fung Hang Jimiderovski, a 3D sculpture inspired by chain reactions and illusions to advertise and answer the question ‘What is Design?’
- ‘Underwater’, a garment design by Thamonwan Sa-ardluan for ballet performance company Sonia Balazovjech Contemporary Dance, inspired by the movement of the water.
These students are on their way to study Architecture and Graphic Design at renowned universities such as University of the Arts London, Arts University Bournemouth and London Metropolitan University.
Other prestigious arts-focused universities which have issued offers to our Art and Design Foundation students include our partners Kingston and UWE Bristol, both of which are celebrating high rankings in the recently published Guardian Good University Guide. Whilst Kingston has been named the best UK university for Design and Craft, UWE Bristol has climbed to 28th in the UK’s overall university rankings — its highest ever position.
