Belmont School Announces Expansion to GCSE

26 Mar 2020

Belmont School independent school SurreyFrom September 2020, Belmont School will extend its age range upwards to prepare pupils for GCSE.

Belmont will educate girls and boys up to Year 11.  This will mean that Belmont School will become a co-educational day and flexi/weekly boarding school for boys and girls aged 2 to 16, with extended day care provision and Early Years funding.

Helen Skrine, Headmistress at Belmont commented, “I am delighted to be able to offer Belmont’s highly successful educational provision to older pupils and we are well on the way to being prepared for their arrival.  Our wonderful 65 acre site allows us to accommodate the extra year groups and we shall be adding new facilities and teaching staff to build upon our excellent model.”

Last year Belmont achieved 47% scholarship rate.  “However, it is not all about the scholars” remarks Headmistress Helen Skrine, “rather it is about being ambitious for every child, wherever their strengths and weaknesses may lie.  We are accredited by NACE and are therefore only one of 400 schools recognised for teaching the gifted and talented yet we also boast a first class learning support provision for those who benefit from this.”

One Belmont parent said, “Belmont is a remarkable school with an unrivalled ethos and first class pastoral care.  I am delighted that our daughter can stay at Belmont until her GCSEs and then move to either independent or state sixth form when she is 16.” If you would like further information and wish to register your initial interest, please contact our Registrar, Charlotte Smith on 01306 730852 or admissions@belmont-school.org
