Bishop’s Stortford College pupil James Thacker has been selected to join the 22-strong England U16 rugby squad after recently attending the England U16 training camp at Stowe School, Buckinghamshire. James plays in the back row and is a member of Saracens Academy as well as playing for Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club and the Bishop’s Stortford College First XV. He hopes to make his debut against the Italian U17 team in April. Head of Rugby at the College, James Reyburn, commented “James is a talented rugby player who is an explosive ball carrier. His selection is testament not only to his ability but also to the hard work he has put in both on and off the pitch this season and I have no doubt he will make a big impact on the international stage.”
