Best ever IB results at Cheltenham Ladies’ College

Pupils at Cheltenham Ladies’ College are celebrating the school’s best ever International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma results, having achieved an average of 42.7 points, a UCAS tariff equivalent to 4 A*s at A Level.
The results, released on Tuesday 6th July, saw 100% of College students secure their Diploma, with marks significantly higher than this year’s global average of 33.2 points.
Over 5,000 schools worldwide offer the IB programme, which focusses on academic rigour and students’ personal development.
Principal Eve Jardine-Young said: “In yet another difficult year for the country’s Sixth Formers, I continue to be inspired by the resilience, focus and dedication our pupils have shown. These exceptional results demonstrate their ability to commit fully to a stimulating global qualification which encourages them to think critically and solve complex problems, qualities which are required more than ever in these challenging times.”
Six pupils, Alisha, Clio, Dilys, Fikesola, Jessica and Stella, were awarded the highest possible grade of 45 points out of 45. Four girls have also achieved Bilingual Diplomas, mastering two languages to native speaker standard.
In addition, 50% of pupils achieved full marks in all three of their Higher Level subjects.
The Class of 2021 CLC students have met their offer requirements to study at an impressive range of top universities across the UK, including Cambridge, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), Durham, Imperial College London, London School of Economics (LSE) and Edinburgh.
Pupils have also secured places at world-leading US colleges: University of Southern California (USC), University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins University; and further afield at Hong Kong University (HKU) and Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
University courses range from Medicine at Cambridge, HKU and CUHK, and Dentistry at QMUL and HKU, to Mechanical Engineering at Imperial, PPE at LSE, English at Durham and Japanese at Edinburgh.
