CyberFirst Girls Competition Success For Cheltenham Ladies’ College pupils

10 Mar 2021

For 10 days in late January and early February, 10 Year 8 girls, who also achieved Gold in the BEBRAS Computational Thinking Challenge earlier in the year, took part in the CyberFirst Girls Competition 2021.

The competition is run by the National Cyber Security Centre and aims to inspire the next generation of young women to consider a career in cyber security.

This is a team event offering challenges in the areas of cryptography, cyber security, networking, and logic and coding. Congratulations to the Purple Squids (Penelope, Alexandra, Laura and Liza) on reaching the National Semi-Finals.

A special mention should also go to Siena who worked particularly hard and achieved the second highest individual score internally (Liza achieving pole position).
