Celebrations in the sunshine as students celebrate their excellent results

This morning we’ve been celebrating some outstanding achievements in A-Levels and Cambridge Technical with 83% of A Level grades being awarded C grade or above, the highest since before the pandemic. Overall 87% of students achieved their first choice of university offer. This builds on our outstanding International Baccalaureate results, that continue to place the school amongst the top ten in the country with an average score of 37 points (out of 45).

These accomplishments open doors for our students to follow a wide range of exciting paths, whether that’s university, apprenticeships, or entering the world of work.

This year’s destinations are as varied as our students with Rachel: A*AAA at A level going on to read Chemical Engineering at University of Bath while Eleanor achieved 44 points in her IB Diploma, placing her amongst the very top students globally and she will now go on to study Medicine. While Vincent is heading to Geneva Business School in Madrid after achieving his IB Diploma and Alliyah: A* Economics A level and D*D* C Tech diploma in Business, going to read Business and Management at Exeter. Joe: D*, D* for C Tech diploma and a B grade at A level has already started a much sought after degree apprenticeship as a Digital Product Manger with Amazon.

Head, Mr Mark Turnbull said ‘We are delighted to see the hard work of so many students rewarded. There are so many different routes through our sixth form and we are pleased to see that these have allowed each student to achieve their goals. They continue to show a growing awareness of the range of opportunities available to them and I am impressed by the ambition and courage they show to follow new pathways beyond school’.
