GCSE Results for 2020 announced – St Edmund’s College

12 Nov 2020

Our Poetry (Year 11) cohort has had to cope with so much disruption and uncertainty through this tumultuous academic year, not least in the last few days in the run up to releasing the GCSE results.  With that being said we are so proud of how hard they continued to work throughout the lockdown period and these results are testament to that.

A total of 34% of students achieved a 9 – 8 grade with 90% of grades being awarded at level 9 – 5; our best ever GCSE results.   Congratulations must go to two female students who excelled with grade 9’s across all eleven subjects.

Headmaster, Mr Matthew Mostyn, commented: ‘’Teachers were scrupulous in awarding these Centre Assessed Grades using a clear, structured, evidence driven approach.  I am so proud of this group of students who worked so hard through our online teaching provision which followed a full, structured timetabled.  They started their A Level teaching early and this has put them in a great position as they continue through to our Sixth Form for their A Levels”.
