Business-related studies feature strongly in this year’s A’ level cohort – a testimony to the success of Heathfield’s extensive initiatives to teach young women about business and entrepreneurship – skills that offer tangible advantages in life after school and prepare them for the world of work. The school provides students with a multitude of opportunities and events to inspire them across a diverse range of industries. Some of the highlights this year included an expert speaker programme, independent learning and enterprise projects, a biennial fashion show, PSHE workshops, and a structured careers programme. Heathfield girls have continued to excel in the arts and a number of award-winning students will be taking their creative passions and talents in this area further at university. Charlotte, who won prizes for music, drama and theatre studies, will be studying Photography at Manchester Metropolitan University; Katia will study Film, Television and Radio at Staffordshire University; and Beatrice will pursue Photography at Oxford Brookes. In addition Tatiana has been offered an unprecedented degree level place in Fine Art at Camberwell, University of Arts London.

“Here at Heathfield we place tremendous value on drawing out each and every girl’s strengths and nurturing her unique talent to enable her to fulfil her dreams and potential,” said Headmistress Marina Gardiner Legge. “I’m so proud of their achievements across Maths, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, the Humanities and Arts. We have watched our sixth formers blossom into well-rounded and confident individuals, and their exceptional A level results this year reflect their determination and hard work, supported all the way by our dedicated staff and parents. They are also kind, resilient, morally strong and great company and therefore leave Heathfield well equipped to deal with the world’s challenges. I am very proud of every one of them.
