Homefield Youngster Recognised for Outstanding Contribution to Local Rugby Club
06 Jun 2017
Homefield School is delighted to announce that Benjamin, a pupil in 4S, was awarded the Frank Lock trophy at local rugby club Sutton & Epsom’s annual end of season prize giving on Sunday.
Benjamin, who plies his trade in the under 9s, has had a stellar season for the black and whites. The Frank Lock trophy is the highest award given in each age group and is awarded to the player who the coaches feel has best demonstrated the values and ethos of the club, as well as all round ability and leadership. The award is made all the more impressive by the fact that there are about 80 players in the under 9s squad and Benjamin was chosen this year by a unanimous vote among the coaches.
The award was presented to Benjamin by Charlie Piper, a professional rugby player for Harlequins, in front of about 1,000 members of the rugby club and the local community who had assembled for the club’s Big Bash and farmer’s market.
Homefield could not be prouder of Benjamin’s achievement, well done.
