King’s Canterbury – The Catching Lives ‘Sleep Out’

20 Jul 2016

Current 6a pupils, Lara Whitmore (BR) and Jennifer Mbu (BR) decided to spend their post exam time productively by raising money for the charity Catching Lives, who provide the homeless with shelter and support in Canterbury and East Kent.

Last week, Jenny and Lara began their ‘sleep out,’ which involved staying outside for 48 hours. And the weather forecast did not put them off! They spent two days sheltered under the School Room on the main school grounds where passers by could donate if they wished. The girls also set up a Just Giving page to raise money for a brilliant, Canterbury based charity. So far they have raised over £650!

Lara and Jenny wished to pass on their thanks for all the support they received.

‘It was great to be able to raise awareness and money for Catching Lives, especially because there are so many homeless people in Canterbury. Everyone’s donations are greatly appreciated.’  Lara
