    Facilities

North Bridge House Nursery, Pre-Preparatory and Senior Schools are three of the group’s six prestigious North London sites, each challenging and celebrating the individual from within their unique and nurturing environments.

    Nursery

Children begin their North Bridge House journey at the Nursery School on the prestigious Fitzjohn’s Avenue, Hampstead, in a warm and welcoming Victorian villa, fully equipped for the rich and varied range of academic and extra-curricular activities offered throughout pupils’ education. With an indoor gym and two large outdoor playgrounds, children have plenty of space to develop their fine motor skills and to embrace outdoor learning or gardening club. Specialist teaching in French (Pre-Reception), music, storytelling, drama and gym sees children develop way beyond the EYFS framework, for which bright and airy classrooms lend themselves to all areas of the curriculum.

    Pre-Preparatory

Minutes around the corner from the Nursery, the Pre-Preparatory School at 8 Netherhall Gardens is another charming Victorian villa, which provides pupils with a natural and seamless transition into Reception. Here pupils continue to benefit from fantastic outdoor play space while frequenting their partner Forest School site in Hertfordshire – a 96-acre site which is full of new experiences and challenges to overcome. Classrooms facilitate delivery of the EYFS and KS1 national curriculums, while the specialist taught subject offering expands to include Italian and Philosophy for Children. 7+ preparation is embedded into the curriculum, providing children with the option of automatic progression to NBH Prep School in Regent’s Park, or entry to another of the UK’s competitive Prep schools.

North Bridge House Pre-Prep children graduating to the group’s Preparatory School on Gloucester Avenue, Regent’s Park (see separate profile), do so at Year 3, with the option of an all-through education facilitated by either of the NBH Senior Schools in Hampstead or Canonbury.

    Senior Hampstead

North Bridge House Senior Hampstead is just a stone’s throw from the distinguished village high street and provides a modern, purpose-built learning environment with a broad-ranging curriculum for 11-16 year olds. From state-of-the-art science laboratories to the visual arts suite, the school provides a ‘broad curriculum’ and enrichment programme, and students make ‘rapid progress’ as they ‘focus on their strengths and interests’ (Independent Schools Inspectorate, 2023). Classrooms are light and airy, equipped with interactive whiteboards or projectors, and overlook the iconic London skyline. To facilitate the number of creative subjects on offer, NBH Senior Hampstead has three large technology rooms, including a kitchen, as well as a photography darkroom and a firing kiln for ceramics. The drama studio is host to many workshops and performance rehearsals, whilst the sports hall is a fantastic multi-purpose facility with badminton and basketball courts, cricket nets, a 5-a-side football pitch and additional outdoor air gym. The comprehensive library and music practice rooms are open for students to enjoy during break times as well as lessons, supporting students’ ‘excellent achievements’ in extra-curricular activities which they choose and commit to ‘with enthusiasm’ (Independent Schools Inspectorate, 2023).
