General Information

St Joseph’s In The Park moved to its unique and beautiful setting in Hertingfordbury Park on the edge of the market town of Hertford in 1949.

As a co-educational prep school, we offer a broad curriculum as well as exciting opportunities to develop a life-long joy of learning for children between the ages of 3 and 11.

We provide a strong academic foundation and the children benefit from specialist teachers in Science, French, Art, Music, Speech and Drama and Ballet. However, we also understand that children need to acquire other qualities and values to truly flourish and actively encourage those skills that will support children through a lifetime of learning.

We think of St Joseph’s In The Park as a family school and it matters to us that our parents and children feel this too.

Facilities

Our Nursery offers sessional day care for children from the start of the term in which they become 3 years old, wrap around care facilities (Breakfast and After School) from 7.30am until 6.00pm, an exciting range of extra-curricular activities including speech and drama, chess, skiing, tennis ballet and photography. We have a large private car park; extensive grounds and heated outdoor pool open in the Spring/Summer term. Recent building development has meant that we now have excellent music facilities and designated Science, Art/Design and Computing Rooms.

“We are extremely proud of our boys for this wonderful achievement. It is the first time we have entered the competition and to come back with the cup is an outstanding success for a school of our size.” Mr Brown
