presented prizes for effort, academic achievement and being a good friend.

The Commander talked of her career, of working hard and doing ones best.

She continued her inspirational talk in the afternoon ceremony to the Prep school girls.  They enjoyed learning about her helicopter flying and saw slides of the frigate she commands.  Other speeches were given by Upton’s Chair of Governors, Mr Jonathan Story and the Head Teacher, Mrs Madeleine Collins.

At Upton house School in Windsor, Thursday 4th June was a memorable day.  Mr Ashley Ratcliffe became a pupil for the day.  His two daughters,

Complete in the school uniform with its felt cap and school shirt Mr Ratcliffe enjoyed a drama workshop, an English lesson, an art class, French and lots of playtime with the children.

Mr Ratcliffe had bid on the opportunity to be a pupil as part of Upton’s charity fundraising for the Alexandra Devine Hospice.

“Mr Ratcliffe was an excellent pupil” said Mrs Madeleine Collins, Headmistress

Upton House, in the heart of Windsor, is a non selective independent day school. It was founded nearly 80 years ago and prides itself on educating children from very different international backgrounds. The children are known for their confidence and caring attitudes and play a large part in the local community raising money for local charities, paying weekly visits to the elderly, worshipping in the parish church and taking part in Windsor events.

Mrs Madeleine Collins, Headmistress could not be more pleased with the results coming in. “We have an unprecedented number of scholars leaving us this summer. Most of these pupils have been with us since Nursery and have done us proud!”
