Millfield – Gold award at Biology Challenge

Sixty-five year nine pupils entered the nationwide Biology Challenge competition this year with 13 pupils achieving gold, silver or bronze awards.

The competition, conducted as an online competition, is open to 13-15 year olds across the UK.

The standout performance was by Maria Elliott who achieved a gold award, putting her in the top 5 per cent in the country. Aurora Burrowes, Lily de Lacy, Nancy Hamer-Nickells, Jessica Kelleway, Yuhka Machino, Sean-Patrick McGowan, and Emily Paterson all achieved silver awards, putting their results in the top 15 per-cent in the country. A further five pupils achieved bronze awards: Harriet Dimdore-Miles, Emily Fowler, Tomotaka Mogami, Jasmine Nobbs and Mac Ryder.

In addition, eight pupils were highly commended for their performances in the Challenge and a further 15 pupils were commended.
