New fast-track Art and Design pathway at Kings Oxford

06 May 2021

From September 2021, the new ‘fast-track’ Art and Design pathway in Oxford will give students the chance to complete their A-levels and Art Foundation course in just two years.

With the ‘fast-track’ Art and Design pathway, students will spend Year 1 completing Art and Design A-levels in two of the following strands:

They will then spend Year 2 completing their Art Foundation course, before progressing to their chosen university and degree course. All with the support of our specialist UCAS counsellors.

Earlier specialisation

Often, despite being set on an Art related degree, Art focused students in UK schools and Sixth Form colleges will still be required to take A-levels in academic subjects alongside Art/Design.

With the Kings Art pathway, those students who know for sure that they wish to study Art and Design at university will be able to complete uniquely Art and Design related subjects at A-level. This means they can focus their time and efforts entirely on Art, ensuring they have the best chance of securing a place on their ideal course and at their preferred university.

All in one place

The Kings Art pathway also means that students can complete all their pre-university art studies in just one college, saving them the stress and upheaval of changing institutes and adapting to a new environment in order to complete their Art Foundation post A-level.

Students will be based at the dedicated Art building at Kings Oxford, located in the very heart of the city and equipped with state-of-the art facilities and resources, including specialist photography equipment and iMacs with Adobe Creative Suite.

Kings students progress to excellent universities and pursue a wide range of degree specialisms from their Art programmes at Kings, and we look forward to helping many more achieve their artistic ambitions through this new and dedicated Art pathway.
