King’s Worcester Celebrates Outstanding 2025 GCSE Results
King’s Worcester is delighted to recognise the exceptional achievements of its Year 11 pupils, who have, once again, secured an outstanding set of GCSE results.
The headline statistics are very impressive, with almost half of the cohort achieving ALL grades 9-8, our strongest ever performance (excluding the years affected by COVID). Over one third of this year’s cohort received 10 or more top grades of 9-7 and two thirds of grades were 9-7. Our largest number of any grade achieved was a grade 9.
Incoming Head of Foundation, Ben Charles, celebrated the journey that the pupils have taken, commenting, “We are very proud of this group of capable and enthusiastic pupils, who have delivered some remarkable results this year, continuing King’s Worcester’s strong track record of academic excellence.”
“As well as working for their GCSEs, they have made significant contributions to the King’s community, embracing the countless opportunities offered to them and developing skills that will stay with them throughout their lives. Their accomplishments are a testament to their dedication, and we eagerly look forward to welcoming them, together with our new joiners, into the Sixth Form, where they will continue to flourish and gain the confidence to embrace what comes next.”
As ever, behind these statistics lie remarkable individual stories. Three pupils have achieved all 11 GCSEs at Grade 9; 13 pupils achieved 11 GCSEs at Grades 9-7. These are fantastic achievements by any standards.
Robert Shepherd received 11 9s, saying , “I’m really happy with my results. I was so surprised to see so many 9s. I’m really looking forward to carrying on at Sixth Form and getting my teeth into new subjects and the EPQ too.”
Twins, Sam and William Perkins, were collectively celebrating after receiving 20 GCSEs between them, with 11 9s, eight 8s and one 7. Both Sam and Will are continuing their studies at King’s Sixth Form.
Keen rower and member of the King’s Worcester Boat Club, Emily Angell, was celebrating today with friends after receiving eight 9s, two 8s and one 7. “I’m over the moon with my results. I can’t believe I did so well. I would like to thank all the staff and in particular the art department for all their support.”
Avid netballer, Ava Town, was celebrating today with friends Lola and Ava after receiving nine 9s and one 8. Ava T said, “I was so relieved and proud to see my results. I worked really hard, and it’s amazing to see that effort pay off. I’m really looking forward to starting Sixth Form at King’s, exploring new subjects, and continuing with co-curriculars like rowing and netball.”
Talented hockey player and drama pupil, Ella Purves, received nine 9s and one 8 and said she was “both relieved and over the moon” with her results. “I’m so excited to be able to start psychology as a subject too.
