Outstanding A Level results for St Edmund’s College

23 Oct 2015

Despite another drop nationally in top grades, St Edmund’s is proud to report some of its best ever grades overall and especially in the Sciences and Humanities. 42% of all our grades were awarded at A*/A (up from last 32% last year) and 70% A*-B. In English 48% of grades were at A*/A with twenty out of twenty three students securing an A*-B grade. In Maths and Further Maths the A*/A percentage was 65%; Physics 57%; Chemistry 50%; French 100% and German 80% A*/B. Over twenty percent of our candidates achieved 3 or more A*/A grades. The majority of the cohort are going on to study at excellent universities, many in the Russell Group, with three students going on to study at Cambridge.

The Headmaster, Mr Paulo Durán, said:

“No two students are like, but I want each and every one at St Edmund’s to feel they can have it all, that they can achieve excellent results, go on to exciting and challenging courses and careers, but do so always in the context of a Catholic, holistic view of education that always seeks to value each and every individual and enable him or her to find their particular talents. I commend all who leave us for the contribution they have made to the College and thank the staff and families who have done so much to prepare these young adults for the challenges ahead.”
