Bromsgrove Prep – success at District Cross Country Championships

On Tuesday 5th December, Bromsgrove hosted the District Cross Country Championships at its Senior School. Forty-eight boys ran from Years 5,6,7 and 8 and did exceptionally well, with leading individual positions as follows:

Oliver Dieppe 1st

Year 6

William Pridden 2nd

Tom Fullard 4th

James Hobbs 5th

Jack Barnett 8th

Year 7

Rohan Adams 2nd

Lucas Ingram 3rd

Fin Dinnen 6th

Oscar Bridgewater 9th

Toby Lewis 10th

Year 8

Sebastian Purvis 1st (the first ever Prep School boy to win the District Year 9 race), Henry Jinks 3rd, Callum Wilkinson 6th, Jack Warner 7th, William Hobbs 12th.

Sebastian, Henry, Callum, Jack and William from Year 8 boys (as above) have been selected to represent the District U15 team at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire County Championships on Saturday 20th January.  Huge congratulations to them, especially since they were running against Year 9 boys.

Congratulations to Year 8 who were crowned District U15 Champions.

Bromsgrove Prep Year 5 girls ran exceptionally well for their first time around the course and the positions were as follows: Tilly Wilkins 7th, Megs Higgs 11th, Jessica Fox 13th, Phoebe Dinnen 25th, Ruby Foster 27th, Lauren Whitby 29th and Abigail Lamb 30th.

In the Year 6 race, Scarlet Preston came in 2nd overall, Teah Petrova 5th, Honey Bo Luscombe 6th, Elizabeth Smith 14th , Lily Milojevic 18th and Isabelle Kavanagh 18th.

In Year 7, Ella Kenward came 4th, Charlotte Jones 5th, Emelia Moberley 7th, Freya Lawton 14th, Katherine Sutherland 17th, Sophia Sellers 27th, Harriet Owen 28th, Emma Dunnaker 31st, Emily Dyer 32nd and Libby Rolph 41st.

In the Year 8 race, Ella Kershaw Crombie came 4th, Abigail Barker 5th, Louise Osborne 6th and Sophia Meadows 8th. Those top four runners were then selected to compete in the County round which is a significant achievement given they were running against Year 9 pupils. Well done also to Jemima Vaughan-Hawkins and Angelina Sanghera who came 17th and 22nd respectively.
