Tes Award Shortlist for Burgess Hill Girls

12 May 2020

Burgess Hill Girls has been shortlisted for Marketing Campaign of The Year in the Tes Independent School Awards 2020.

Staff and pupils at Burgess Hill Girls are celebrating being shortlisted for Marketing Campaign of The Year in the Tes Independent School Awards 2020.

The Burgess Hill Girls rebrand project started in 2015 with a name change from Burgess Hill School for Girls to Burgess Hill Girls.  Since then they have consistently evolved their marketing campaigns to showcase a modern, forward-looking school which puts girls at the centre of everything it does.  Burgess Hill Girls’ visual identity now focuses on pupils as ‘Tomorrow’s Women’, highlighting their future ambitions and underpinning the idea of schooling as a journey towards adulthood rather than a discrete activity ending at eighteen.  A series of portraits of pupils represent a range of aspirational careers, from cricketer to barrister and designer to mathematician.

Head Liz Laybourn is thrilled to be shortlisted for the Tes Award, ‘Marketing in today’s world requires a real team effort from pupils, their parents and our staff.  I am especially proud of all the girls who have boldly volunteered to feature in our campaigns; they truly are ‘Tomorrow’s Women.’

Tes editor Ann Mroz said: “The Independent schools in this country are truly exceptional; those that have earned a place on the Tes Independent School Awards shortlist are a cut above the rest.  We received an unparalleled number of entries this year, all of which were first rate. The schools that have been shortlisted should be proud – it’s a remarkable achievement.”

The winners will be revealed at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 7 February 2020.  To see the full list of who is in the running, visit isawards.co.uk
