The sky’s the limit for Sabrina in the Welsh Climbing Championships

On the 17th March, Christ College CCF entered a team of 8 cadets for the Welsh Cadet Climbing Championships which were held in North Wales.

A young team, especially in the seniors, competed admirably against some good and older opposition. Most of the team made it through the first round, and after two rounds of climbing, we had a good representation in the finals.

Of particular note, Luke Henderson and Caroline Mayr achieved third places in the Junior Boy and Senior Girl categories respectively, with Sabrina Keller winning a tough battle in the Senior Girls final.

Christ College’s CCF Contingent Commander, Major Ian Owen said: “All of our cadets contributed well to our points total which put us in second place overall. In a separate “speed climb” our team of boys also got runners up spot.

He added: “All were enthused by the event, hosted at HMS Indefatigable on Anglesey, and are hoping to be selected for next year’s event and go one place better.”

The team was: Luke Henderson, Neil Wang, Rhodri Edwards, Lloyd Donovan, Cerys Bibey, Bella Fisher, Caroline Mayr and Sabrina Keller.
