Wellington College former pupil crowned England’s top woman golfer

25 Sep 2013

Congratulations to OW, Alex Peters, who has just been crowned as England’s top woman golfer for 2013. Alex claimed the title from fellow international, Sarah-Jane Boyd of Cornwall, after posting a series of impressive results throughout the season.

Alex joined Wellington as a Duke of York Scholar, spending four years in the Hopetoun, before leaving in 2012. Captain of Golf in her final year, Alex helped guide Wellington to victories in the ISGA National Finals in 2009 and 2012, and the HMC Foursomes in 2011. Alex was a real role model to all our golfers, and proved a fine ambassador not only for Wellington, but also for The Duke of York Sports Foundation. We are proud of her and wish her the best of fortune in her burgeoning golf career.
