World Ocean Day inspires Year 3

27 Jul 2020

Year 3 celebrated World Oceans’ Day on Monday and continued with the theme throughout the week. The children have quickly become accustomed to remote learning and Mrs Atkinson has been very impressed with the way pupils have adapted to the new learning environment and the quality of work they are producing.

This week pupils have focused their attention on World Oceans’ Day by participating in a range of tasks. Some of which required patience and a growth mindset!  The week started with pupils either participating in the live online activities on the World Ocean Day Schools website or by undertaking a range of activities based on the importance of the oceans for our health.  Through various activities children were able to gain an insight into why oceans matter and how we can reduce, reuse and recycle plastic to keep our oceans healthy, in turn, keeping us healthy.

Tasks throughout the week included:

Mrs Atkinson was delighted by the way in which the children responded to the work and hopes to continue to spread the message about protecting our beautiful planet…  ‘Together, we can make a change’.

Well done Year 3!
