On a wet and windy Monday and a sunny and warm Tuesday, Year 4 kick-started their History topic, ‘All About Romans’ with a

trip to Wroxteter Roman City.

Both classes enjoyed a tour around the Roman baths and had some very tricky decisions to make about how to spend their real Roman coins. They made some sensible choices like paying a guard to look after their clothes whilst they visited the bath and choosing to use a strigil to clean themselves!

All of the children visited a Roman villa which had been built by Channel 4 for a television show called ‘Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day’. A team had worked together to build the villa using traditional Roman techniques and the children loved exploring a map of the house to find their way around.

After making their own Roman coin to take home with them, the children returned to school full of the tales of what they had learned!
