93.10% Pass Rate at Queen Mary’s Once Again

Queen Mary’s School, Topcliffe is once again jumping for joy after receiving this year’s exceptional GCSE results. The independent girls’ school achieved a fantastic 93.10% A* – C pass rate for those who sat 5 GCSEs or more. Many departments within the school including Science and Languages are celebrating a 100% pass rate with several achieving 70% or more A*/A grades..

After a year of academic change within the school, the number of A*/A grades over all academic disciplines increased to 49.2%, which is up nearly 10% on last years results.

All successes both inside and outside of the classroom are celebrated here at Queen Mary’s in many different ways, and there are 4 girls who deserve a special mention for their outstanding academic achievements in these GCSEs. Emily Martin achieved 11A* grades and is moving on to Ripon Grammar School, Alice Backhouse achieved 9A* and 1A grade and has been awarded a place at Uppingham, and both Poppy Booth and Izzy Da Costa gained 6A* grades and 4A grades each and will move onto Uppingham and Ashville College.
