A visit to Newland College from Grishma Sutaria, head teacher at Little Kingshill Combined School

Having visited Newland College, I was incredibly impressed by the overall ethos of the school. It struck me that the transition between junior and senior school is handled very sensitively and the happiness of the children was apparent. Having the fortune to sit in on part of an art lesson, I was impressed by both the content and delivery, which made us all think about how we view the world in a totally different light without the presence of technology! I personally endorse the development of children becoming independent thinkers, and particularly liked ideas such as no school bell to encourage the children to be responsible for their own time-keeping, a tangible skill to take into the real world.
