Best-selling teenage fiction author, Cathy Cassidy, visited Northwood College on Thursday 13 June to talk to girls in Years 6 – 9. Cathy was born in Coventry, but now lives in North West England. She has written 20 books. She has also been the agony aunt for Shout, a magazine for teenage girls and she has a series of books about ‘Daizy Star’ for younger readers.

Cathy is currently on tour as her latest book in the ‘Chocolate Box Girls’ series has just been published. Northwood College girls were eager to hear about the adventures of Coco in ‘Coco Caramel’ and find out where Cathy gets her ideas from and what other plans she has for her website and competitions her readers can enter. After her talk, the girls had the opportunity to purchase signed copies of her books.

Liz Annetts, the School Librarian, who organized the visit said, “The day was made even more exciting as it was Cathy’s birthday and the girls had a big surprise for her when they presented her with a huge Birthday card and cake. It was in the shape of a large ‘Cherry Crush’ cupcake, which is the title of one of her books! ”
