Three Bishop’s Stortford College netball players have been selected to join top county and club teams.
Three Bishop’s Stortford College netball players have recently been selected to join prestigious county and club teams:
Ellie Lewis has been selected for the County Academy and will play in the Hertfordshire County 1st Team later this month. County Academies are managed by County Netball Associations on behalf of England Netball, who are in charge of the training programmes. The athletes gain the support and skill set they need to progress to the next level of the pathway, the Regional Academy.
Katie Whitehead, who also recently joined the U16 England Rounders squad, has been selected onto the Satellite One programme and will be representing East Hertfordshire. The Satellite Academy is the first step on the England Pathway, managed and delivered by the East Hertfordshire Netball Association on behalf of England Netball.
Alex Povey has been selected to join the London Pulse U17 Development Squad. London Pulse currently enter two teams, U19 & U17, in the National Netball Performance League, whose players are in the athlete pathway for progression to possibly become future NSL (Netball Super League) players.
Netball is one of the five core girls’ sports at Bishop’s Stortford College. All three girls are also supported by the College’s Elite Sports Programme. Head of Netball, Louisa Watson, said, “We are delighted that these three talented players have been selected at such high representative levels and into well respected teams. We look forward to following their progress”.
