Bromsgrove School – Talented cricketer Jordan Smith selected for Bermuda Cricket Team
24 Oct 2016
Congratulations to Bromsgrove School pupil Jordan Smith who has been picked to play for Bermuda in the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 event from 29 October to 5 November. The event, hosted by the USA for the first time will take place in Los Angeles. The top two sides from among the competing teams – Bermuda, Denmark, Italy, Jersey, Oman and the USA – will advance to the ICC WCL Division 3, while the bottom two will drop to Division 5 in the system of continuous promotion and relegation between divisions. The third and fourth teams will remain in Division 4.
Jordan is a true Bromsgrovian; a selfless, polite young man who has worked extremely hard over the last 5 years to improve his cricket skills. This recognition, with selection for his national team is a great reward. I wish Jordan well for the upcoming tournament and hope he contributes to Bermuda winning and gaining promotion.
Jordan has warm up matches v Canada in Bermuda this weekend, then the squad flies to LA for the division 4 tournament. At aged 18, Jordan is the youngest player in the squad.
