Bromsgrove School’s 1st netball team reached National Netball Finals
23 Apr 2018
Congratulations to Bromsgrove School 1st netball team who reached the National Netball Finals, winning all of their fourteen county and regional qualifying matches to represent the West Midlands.
At the National Finals, despite adverse weather conditions of snow, sleet and high winds, the team adapted their game to the conditions, playing smart netball. They won every match in their group which took them through to the Semi-Finals where they faced a very strong Worthing College who Bromsgrove overcame to win 11-8. They then went on to face Queen Ethelburga’s in the Final where they fought hard, taking an early lead but due to the height advantage of the Queen Ethelburga goal shooter Queen Ethelburga came back to take the victory.
The Bromsgrove team won twenty-two games in a row in the English Schools’ Competition, with one loss to be crowned the 2nd best team in the country.
