We are buzzing with excitement to announce that our bees have produced the first batch of King’s honey! Governor Mr Smith extracted 10kg of honey from 10 frames, and the bees are expected to produce double that amount over the summer.
To celebrate, our Pre-Prep children were invited to design a label for the honey jars and the results were bee-autiful. Reception pupils visited the hives in the Satis House gardens and learnt all about how honey is made. Afterwards, everyone was as busy as bees designing their own labels!
Congratulations to our winners: Edwardo (1O), Kiera (2K), and Bruce (2K). Each of them received a jar of honey featuring their winning design.
More honey will be collected over the summer and will bee available to purchase in the new academic year.
