Careers and Higher Education Fair at RGS Worcester

05 Mar 2012

Pupils from throughout the area are being invited by a local school to attend a careers and higher education fair which has an outstanding list of exhibitors.

With 45 careers’ delegates and 20 university representatives, from the UK as well as USA, Holland, Italy and Switzerland, RGS Worcester has decided to throw its doors open to interested young people to attend the event on 13 March.

“Traditionally our careers fair has been an in-house event,” said RGS Head Andy Rattue. “But due to the exceptional array of attending delegates this year, we are extending an invitation to all pupils, and their parents, to come along and benefit from the wealth of expert advice on offer.”
Visitors will meet delegates from a wide range of organisations: accountants, solicitors, engineers, medics and architects, but also the armed forces and police, plus experts from companies including Halcrow, Airbus, Sky TV, the RNLI, retailers, construction and the financial services industry. Entrepreneurs are also well represented, from a restaurateur to marketing, bottled water to flood barriers.
Local attending universities include Worcester, Birmingham, Coventry, Loughborough and Hereford Art College. Representatives from Maastricht, Tilburg, Leiden, Utrecht, Lausanne and Milan universities will take the chance to explain the European options available to students. New York University adds another international flavour.
“Doors will open at 6pm with an opening address from John Philips, West Midlands Regional Director of the Institute of Directors, at 6.30pm,” said Mr Rattue. “He’ll be talking on ‘the power of passion’, which will open the fair with a bang!”

Anyone wishing to attend is asked to email the school for further details: office@rgsw.org.uk
