Girls do better in single-sex education

15 Jan 2013

Research from the Institute of Education demonstrates that girls achieve more in single-sex educational environments.

Statistics continue to demonstrate that girls thrive in single sex schools. Achievements at The Maynard School, an independent girls’ school in Exeter, continue to support these statistics. The school provides excellent academic and pastoral support, enabling girls to reach their full potential and, with increasing competition for university places, it is testament to The Maynard’s teaching that each year most students gain places at their first choice universities, including Russell Group universities such as Cambridge, UCL and St Andrews.

Entrance assessment days are held throughout the year to allow potential students to experience the nurturing environment at The Maynard. Interview days for the Sixth Form are being held on Friday 18 January and Friday 15 March. Entrance assessment days for the 11+ take place on Tuesday 15 January and for the Junior School on Tuesday 29 January. Individual taster days or entrance assessments can be arranged at any time of year.
