Greenfields School – Prince William Award

30 May 2019

The latest Senior School Prince William Award session was all about working together as a team in an adverse environment and targeted the students’ sense of leadership and responsibility.

After filling in their ongoing journals, the students were taken into the Greenfields woods to work together as a team to observe hidden objects in and around the trees. Using scanning methods, teamwork and communication, the teams had 20 objects to discover without letting the other team know where they were. The next activity involved creating ‘land art’ from the surrounding foliage as a team, resulting in some very impressive pieces.

Everyone then took part in fire lighting skills using fire pits, learned lighting methods and gained knowledge of the fire triangle, then wrapped things up by cooking marshmallows on the open fire.
