Hereford Cathedral School -Hugo tackles Argentina trek
13 Jun 2017
Good luck to former HCS pupil Hugo Jobst, who is attempting a sponsored 40km trek in Argentina. This is no mean feat for anyone, nevermind someone who has suffered from Perthes Disease for most of their life.
Hugo left HCS last summer, after achieving two As and a B in his A Levels, despite undergoing a hip replacement at the age of 17. Due to his condition, he never completed a whole year at school, apart from his final one.
During the three-day trek to Mount Fitz Roy in southern Argentina, Hugo will cover between 30km and 40km. Hugo said: “I would love to raise some money for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, the staff of which were responsible for my care throughout the course of my disease.”
Hugo called HCS head of Biology Mrs Segalini-Bower from Argentina last week to inform her that he had been offered a place at St Andrew’s University to study medicine. Well done, Hugo!
