Homefield’s Director of Sport Going the Distance for The Children’s Trust
19 Feb 2016
Homefield’s Director of Sport, David Matthews, is in the midst of a gruelling training regime as he intensifies his preparations for the 2016 London Marathon.
As part of his training, David has entered into the Spitfire 20 mile run, which will be held at the famous Top Gear track at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Cranleigh on 13th March.
In a bid to raise more money for his chosen charity, The Children’s Trust in Tadworth, Mr Matthews is inviting all the Homefield boys to enter a competition to guess the time it takes him to run the twenty miles. The cost of entry is £2 per guess (more than one guess is permitted) and the prize for the correct or nearest guess is a family ticket (two adults and two children) to a super car day at the Top Gear track on the weekend of 2nd-3rd July 2016. In case the boys were feeling particularly optimistic or pessimistic in regards to Mr Matthews’s chances, the time range for the guesses is from two to five hours.
Mr Matthews has a fundraising target of £2000 and is keen to surpass that total before the day of the London Marathon on April 24th 2016. All donations will be exceptionally well received. Mr Matthews’s Just Giving page can be accessed here http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Davem51
