Howell’s Junior Competition Choir Performs in London’s Prestigious Cadogan Hall

25 Apr 2019

Howell’s Junior Competition Choir (JCC) received very positive praise from the adjudicators at the GDST Young Choir of the Year finals on Thursday 21st March. The 38 girls in the choir had been working towards their programme since hearing that they had gained a place in the final back in January. Thursday morning saw six choirs from GDST Prep Schools converge at the prestigious Cadogan Hall in London’s Belgravia to perform two pieces each in front of friends and family, distinguished adjudicators, Trust Office staff, staff from other schools and each other. Our JCC gave a fantastic performance and delighted the audience and were very pleased to receive such positive feedback. The winner of the competition was South Hampstead Junior School from London who gave two outstanding performances and thoroughly deserved to take the trophy. It was a wonderful experience for our choir to travel to London for what was the second choral final this year. Not only did they perform brilliantly, but their attitude and behaviour were a credit to Howell’s. Many thanks to all the parents who travelled to support the choir and thanks to the staff who accompanied the girls through the long day. Special thanks must also go to the choir’s director, Mrs Amy Clouter and to their accompanist, Mr Simon Shewring. Congratulations everyone!
