Bishop’s Stortford College Pre-Prep were delighted to welcome several members of a musical family and from the captivated looks on the faces of the pupils, the visitors certainly hit the right note.

The four to seven year olds were introduced to the string family of the orchestra by Key Strings, through a highly entertaining and educational live performance. Demonstrating solo and ensemble music across different periods and cultures, the talented string duo stretched the listening and appraising skills of their young audience with scores of imagination, creativity and humour. They even managed to create links to science, technology and history.

“It was a hugely enjoyable, engaging learning experience for our children. They were totally absorbed from start to finish,” said Head of Pre-Prep, Mrs Ruth Boon. “Every member of staff commented on what a fabulous event it was and how well it supported our Music curriculum. We look forward to inviting them back next year.”
