KING’S WORCESTER STUDENTS DELIVER ANOTHER STRONG YEAR OF RESULTS

The King’s School Worcester is again delighted with outstanding A Level results this year. An impressive 93% of grades achieved were A*-C, with 77% of results A*-B. These are the strongest results at this level for a number of years.

Leading the way were Head of School, Alice Evans, who achieved three A* grades and one grade A which helped secure her place at University College, Oxford to study Biomedical Sciences, and Ollie Colebourne who achieved 4 A* grades in Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Joe Ashton, Bill Bishop, Andrew Salkeld, Lucy Goodman and Jamie Havercroft all also achieved A* in 3 or more A Levels.

Headmaster, Matthew Armstrong praised the students on their achievements:

“We are absolutely delighted with the results this year and are so very proud of the achievements of all our students. It’s fantastic to see year-on-year improvements, particularly given the challenges presented with the introduction of the new syllabuses this year. There are so many fantastic individual performances contained within these results and I would love to be able to mention them all.

Sixth Form is a young person’s passport to the next stage of his or her life and the students have delivered results which do themselves and also the school great credit. Their hard work has really paid off and we are thrilled that so many of them will be able to continue to the next stage of their career path, whether this is at university, in a professional apprenticeship or starting out in the workplace.”

Most students achieved their first choice of place at university, including eight who received offer of places at Oxford or Cambridge. Other King’s students will go on to study a wide range of other subjects including Law, English, Geography, Medicine, Engineering, Interior Design and Marketing to name a few.

Head of Sixth Form, Josh Hand added;

“It has been a great privilege to work with such a talented group of young students. This past year has been amazing, watching the students not only work hard to get their results but also watching them enjoy and contribute to school life. They have risen to the challenge of increasingly tough exams and truly deserve the results they have achieved. It makes me incredibly happy and proud to be celebrating with them today.”
