Taunton School
“Taunton School is characterised by a restless energy and ambition, unusually coupled with a sense of humility. Our community is aspirational yet unpretentious. We seek to develop a quiet self-confidence in our pupils, with no hint of arrogance. We encourage all students to engage fully with the range of opportunities available to them and, above all, we ask them to look after one another.
Our school is large enough to provide a breadth of opportunity yet small enough for everyone to feel part of a connected community.”

Facilities
With a rural outlook, but right on the edge of a small town, Taunton School is the perfect combination of town and country. Many communities come together at Taunton School which operates as one inclusive family where everyone belongs, whatever their story or background. An ongoing £20 million development plan will ensure Taunton School continues to provide facilities which meet the needs of the 21st century student.
There is a new Sixth Form Centre and Library and also a £4 million dining hall, opened by Princess Anne, where all members of the Taunton School family come together. Impressive new sporting facilities are due in 2024 and students can relax and socialise in the newly pedestrianised ‘Green Heart’ of the school which links boarding houses, teaching blocks and the Dining Hall. A health centre serves students 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is staffed by 17 nurses and healthcare professionals.
