Millfield Prep – Year 8 Bake-off Showstopper Challenge

During summer term, a team of Year 8 pupils have been taking part in a weekly bake-off between houses. Among the challenges have been shortbread, Swiss roll, chocolate chip muffins and the classic Victoria sandwich.
The competition culminated in a Showstopper Challenge this week, with each baker producing a cake for a children’s tea party. They designed, sourced ingredients and baked for two hours to produce these stunning entries. Star Baker went to Finlay for his fun Cookie Monster cake.
All bakers were commended for the texture, taste and presentation of their bakes as well as top marks for planning and organisation. After balancing the points from all rounds, the results were:
