Millfield School – Pupils pitch to local entrepreneurs in Year 10 Enterprise Competition

12 Jun 2017

Millfield pupils studying GCSE Business Studies have had the opportunity to create and present business solutions to potential employers for this year’s Enterprise Competition.

Over 100 pupils were asked to create a business idea that offered an e-commerce platform which could be used by 333 Homes, a local property development company.

Three pairs made it through to the final rounds of the competition, where they presented their plans to judges Roger Hutton (Director of 333 Homes), Anabel Sexton (founder of Boudavida active wear) and Harry Renshaw-Smith (Old Millfieldian, employee of Savills group).

Year 10 pupils Archie Killen and Victor Webb won the opportunity to join a professional marketing presentation for 333 Homes with their innovative, all-round online home-buying service. Other teams suggested a bespoke 3D interiors package that would allow customers to decorate and furnish their new homes digitally, as well as a customer-focused interative app.

Competiton judge and Director of 333 Homes Roger Hutton said: “As an entrepreneur, I value the opportunity to engage with young people, who are potential business leaders of the future. All the pupils involved in the Enterprise Challenge brought modern, fresh thoughts to the table and as a judging panel, we were impressed with their level of creativity.”
