Oswestry School – Caitlin sets her sights on 1st Dan Tae Kwon-Do black belt

21 Apr 2017

Following months of hard work and training Year 6 Bellan House pupil Caitlin McCourt has received her red belt with black stripe in Tae Kwon-Do. The grading was performed in front of Master Gianni Peros, the top Master in the UK, where Caitlin showcased her mastered techniques and specialist knowledge.

Caitlin now has six months to work towards her black belt grading in Bristol on 15th October when, with luck, she will become a 1st Dan. Along with perfecting all the previous patterns and the new black belt pattern Caitlin will need to know the thinking and meaning behind the moves as well as the associated Korean language. Caitlin must also attend three special classes with Masters around the country during the month before the grading.
